BTW, I super appreciate ALL the forum's suggestions. And once I have the new keyboard I intend to try all even if the initial attempt succeeds just for the knowledge.
I had previously tried the continuous F12 key when getting nowhere with the F1 key hoping to get into the boot order. No go. Interestingly, the Geek guy also suggested the Del key but decided to use his Fn + F1 key.
For me, all bets are off until I receive and try the Fn wired keyboard tomorrow...
Yes, Denis is correct. The desktop keyboard does not have a separate Fn key from the F keys top row.
And I also understand Denis' POV regarding the Fn key not necessary.
However, over the course of ~2 weeks, since I started questioning on the Lenovo IdeaCenter forum, I must have tried getting...
You know, I don't doubt for one minute the Geek was free boarding. But I do not have another explanation for why the computer booted on their desk. And I'm not arguing with the result.
I will order a new WIRED keyboard with a Fn key. I can't say that that's my silver bullet but it sure as heck...
This morning I did sfc /scannow and problems were found and fixed. Then I chkdsk with switches and no response on screen - black. I know that chkdsk is quick even with the find and fix switches. I waited 10-15 minutes, turned the machine off then on and off on and off on... And for the first...
I've done a bit of reading and thanks for the link.
It's clear that my system way over performs QB's requirement. Unfortunately, I'm certain QB's and support are looking at the System clock speed - period.
It's sort of nuts that they do not wish to understand Intel's Turbo Boost and the rest...
I'm giving you the speed as listed under System. Speed being locked is above my level. But if your supposition is correct, then is there a way to unlock the speed block? And why on earth would the speed be locked other than for Lenovo/Intel to get some sort of energy rating?
And assume I...
2 clarifications-
QB's 2022 was running fine the last time used on the laptop the fall of 2023. Connie needed it for a meeting today and I set about updating to her current data file (from her desktop). That's when the laptop continually encountered a stop error. And I was told by a QB manager...
A year ago I purchased what I thought to be a quick laptop. A Lenovo Win11 Ideapad Intel Evo i7 - 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H 2.30 GHz (I had waited until the 12 Gen chipset was generally shipping before purchasing) - 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable). Windows 11 Home version 23H2 - Build...
I thought I posted the information yesterday but I'm not seeing it. Here it is again in better form (attach).
Ok, I'll bite. As soon as I posted the text file, yesterday's post that I didn't see is now visible (to me).

So does this infer I need to cancel the NordVPN subscription? Also, why couldn't I just logout of Nord? Wouldn't that stop the program from running? Notwithstanding my questions, I'll be following your instructions.
