Echo Killed explorer, now trying to revive it...

REM the Start doofus empty string and quotes around the targeted program is necessary to make sure the command window closes itself; the Start command has a first parameter, Window Name, which ties the Start command to whatever it opens. If unspecified, the parameter receives the name of whatever app Start is starting.
REM Thus it restarts explorer, puts that name on a command-prompt window b/c the first parameter isn't specified in code, and thus feels like it's part of the whole Explorer vibe and therefore should stay.
REM The empty-string kludge creates a non-Window in order to satisfy parameter Window Name, but as it's nothing, Start doesn't feel like it has to stick around and will meekly follow TIMEOUT's instruction to mosey offstage whereas otherwise it wouldn't.
taskkill /IM explorer.exe /f
Start "" "explorer.exe"
REM This window will now self-destruct.
TIMEOUT 1
Exit
