If you are speaking to me, My NAS is connected to the switch underneath my desk. The AT&T modem/router is also wired in to the switch. Any other devices are for the most part Wi-Fi and are connected to the mesh system router. My Modem/router has been configured so that the Wi-Fi is disabled. I...
In December of last year I upgraded to Windows 11. All seemed to be going fine until I recently switched to a mesh Wi-Fi system. My hard wired devices are still connected through the AT&T Modem, but the remaining devices are wi-fi. That being said, I am having issues with my two old NAS devices...
So far, windows 11 pro is working fine. I did have an issue with my McAfee antivirus, but had it resolved by chatting with them. Other than that, I am tweaking my desktop so that it works smoother. And I am also slowly bringing back the programs that I had before. Thanks again to all of you!
I do keep my all of my userid's and passwords on an excel spreadsheet on another drive separate from c:\. There are far too many for me to remember and to write on a sheet of paper. This way I can update or change passwords.
I seem to be overwhelmed with comments, but that is good. What I did was to move as much files as I could remember to another HDD. I then went into UEFI and selected to boot from usb. What I did next was troublesome for a while. I started the windows install and when it came to the drive I...
So, I am biting the bullet and am installing Windows 11 as a clean install. I already have windows 11 running, but it was not a clean install and has issues right now. Anyway, I want to keep a lot of things such as photos, desktop icons, applications, etc. I have been migrating some of these to...
This is very interesting. Almost 100 views about my situation, and not one person has seen this anomaly. Oh well, I guess I will try another forum. Thanks, anyway.
Maybe I'm jumping the gun, because I had this posted on another thread, but I am perplexed. 2 days ago, I made a VHD on an HDD. Now, this HDD is a 2T drive that has 3 partitions on it (drives E: F: G:). I took the F: drive, which had 224 GB free space and allocated 100 GB for the VHD. After...
Thank you all for your suggestions and input. I went ahead and downloaded the Windows 11 ISO 22H2 version. I then made a virtual drive so that I could test out Windows 11 first. After I made the VHD, I pasted the Windows 11 ISO into the drive. I double clicked on the ISO and realized, half way...
Good morning. I am a new member to this forum, but have been a member of TenForum for years. I recently upgraded my PC to be eligible for the Windows 11 upgrade. I swapped out my cpu from a Ryzen 5-1600X to a Ryzen 5-5600X, and enabled TPM 2.0. I was hoping to install the free windows 11, but...
