IMO, it's much better to use Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media. Years ago, I forgot to use it and just unplugged a USB. Sh*t happened.

Try changing your Laptop monitor resolution to 50Hz. Open Settings, then go to System > Display > Advanced display. You should see Choose a refresh rate option in there. Click the drop-down list to see if there is a 50Hz available.

Apologies for the late reply. I was busy IRL. I actually didn't know that. I thought MPC-BE just works with YT videos. It's a good thing someone decided to create an updated/modified build of youtube-dl.

I was using Media Player Classic until they stopped, then I switched to a fork called Media Player Classic - Black Edition. I think MPC-BE has youtube-dl already integrated because when I open YouTube links, they just open and play.
