I also installed a new gamemax RGB smart 1300W 80 Plus Platinum PCIE 5 ready with a dedicated 12VHPWR cable rated at 600 watts, no change to performance
I have an update for everyone... I have gotten the system to work, to some degree. I have put the GPU in the PCIEX1 slot instead of the PCIEX16 slot and the GPU works and I can actually game. and there are no artifacts or freezing. but there are two problems. the hardware doesn't fit in my case...
Ahh ok, I have plugged them in correctly now. Unfortunately still doing the same thing. I am going to run Windows memory diagnostic tool to see if there are any hardware issues.
I mean completely removing and reinstalling either WIN 10 or 11. In the pictures, the fan does look flat but is indeed propped up a little over an inch. Also, for the wiring, I have set them up in both configurations. the single end from PSU and only using the main branch on the Y end...
It should be enough. The thermals for the CPU are very constant and don't spike at all. perhaps once I start gaming or putting it under load I'll find out lol. But for just the setup and troubleshooting I've done its been fine.
An update.... I have called both EVGA and MSI about the wiring and they assured me that everything was done correctly from how I described it to them. The new 4090 came in this morning and I tried it out. It does the exact same thing as the last. I tried with only one ram card and with 2 cards...
I am gonna give the single RAM card a shot. In the included pictures is what I mean by the special 3 to 1 dongle, There is no other input on this 4090. Also, the different ways I was using the y splitters simply because I only have 2 straight-through VGAs and was forced to use at least one y...
So this is what I found on the Gigabyte page for support. I see what you are saying about the 4 DIMM support not being stated. I will say that I have tried running with only 2 cards and get the same results.
The GPU comes with this special 3 to 1 plug/dongle, I am sure that is what you are talking about. I have 3 VGA cables from PSU plugged into that special dongle and then into the GPU which only has the one special slot. I have tried straight VGA cables and even y-VGA cables, plugging the double...
Unfortunately, this is a brand-new build and a first for me. I wanted to go all out after saving for a while. Why god has cursed me only he knows. I don't have any other GPUs to test. I have had problems with this build since July 13 when all my parts finally came in. When the freezing first...
