Both my other laptops (Lenovo P14s, T14s Gen 4) will change the date of a folder or directory if its content is changed. They run NTFS, not exFAT. Maybe this is the explanation?

Sorry for my ignorance. Is the behaviour you describe only only applicable in an SSD? In hard drives in a laptop it does not work that way.
I'm using a new Crucial X9 4TB SSD. The folder date doesn't change if I eliminate or add a file in it. I can't see the reason for this.
I'd be grateful for any help.
