  1. start using new windows 11 computer

Cool, thanks for the link and now downloaded. Now I can leisurely spend days-weeks-months searching for more creative ways to break windows. Then I can come back here and get you wonderful folks to help me to fix all my screwups.;-)
  2. Show off your internet speed!

Yup and since there will never be, or highly unlikely in my lifetime, a reliable fast terrestrial "wired" (fiber) connection to rural areas. If it wasn't for Elon Musk and his vision of Starlink, I'd still be on a WiFi connection (WISP) at <7mbps down and 2mbs up. It now makes shopping on Amazon...
  3. Problem with NVidia Driver 576.52

I have a 3060ti card that works just fine the way it is (572.83) and since Nvidia has had a lot of issues writing stable drivers to accommodate the 50 series cards, I'm staying put. If at any time I see a real need to update with no issues with older cards, then maybe.
  4. Show us your PC/Setup

Oh yes, the good ol' days. Many a fiery night on alt.linux (or something to that extent). You quickly developed a very thick skin, and yes, the ignore button is a godsend.
  5. Anyone play with iVentoy yet?

There "may" be an issue, but the dev seems to have fixed it? https://borncity.com/win/2025/05/07/warning-iventoy-1-0-2-installs-obscure-certificates-and-drivers/
  6. Windows notification sounds while computer is idle and locked

If you have external speakers, turn them off? :p Sorry, couldn't resist. I noticed that issue as well, a little aggravating but we have several computers as well as tablets, phones etc. that all announce notifications. I tend to ignore them all.
  7. Unable to switch on Core Isolation with new install of Windows 11

In my BIOS it's referred to as Intel (VMX) Virtualization Technology. That has to be enabled if you use virtual machines (virtual OS's), but if it's on, core isolation won't enable (at least on my computer). If you don't have that setting enabled and you don't use virtual machines, I will allow...
  8. Unable to switch on Core Isolation with new install of Windows 11

I had a problem with core isolation that reported incompatible drivers. They were 4 Logitech drivers, but I don't have any Logitech devices. However, when I uninstalled Virtual Box and toggled the virtual setting off in the UEFI, I magically had core isolation turned back on.
  9. Cannot Uninstall KB5055523?

Now that is interesting. I did get KB5055523, Microsoft sent it twice actually, and after the second install, I noticed (perhaps coincidentally) that my RAM usage peaked at 99% until I rebooted, then it would start all over again. I narrowed it down to Phone Link and even Co-Pilot agreed with me...
  10. Could some one help, please?

There is quite literally, a gazillion sites to tell you how to dual boot win and linux. The above is good, another is How To Dual Boot Linux and Windows 11 and many, many, many more. I don't recommend Kali as your 1st linux attempt (?) but if you're bound and determined, here's the home page...
  11. Where do I file a win 11 bug where it will actually get seen by Microsoft?

I don't know about MS contact info but I feel your pain. I noticed this quirky behavior a couple of days, mostly with Explorer however also with Brave. I just chalked it up to MS trying to make my windows experience more enjoyable.
  12. ASUS ROG Armoury Crate 6 app now available

There is a setting in the BIOS that you can disable the notice to install Armory Crate when installing Windows. There is also an uninstall program to remove Armory Crate listed on the Asus website for your MB.
  13. Samsung Announces Official Rollout of One UI 7 Starting From April 7

gsmarena has a timeline for when we "can expect" the update to UI7/Android 15, even my 2 year old A34 is slated to get it in May. I'm quivering with unbridled joy...yippee... https://www.gsmarena.com/heres_which_phones_are_getting_one_ui_7_first_and_when-news-66719.php
