  1. Unsolvable Windows 11 sleep prevention bug

All I know is this made it worse for me. I had to "hopefully temporarily" disable Modern Standby. On the flip side, THIS did give me all the power modes back. :)
  2. Insider KB5007328 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22478.1012 - Oct. 15

    Mine's fine, but I didn't do a rollback. I did a restore from the night before's backup.
  3. Insider KB5007328 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22478.1012 - Oct. 15

No 3rd party AV on mine and it still GSOD's.....
  4. Insider KB5007328 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22478.1012 - Oct. 15

Just goes to show, if you're working with alpha and beta class software, keep your backups up to date daily. My backup from the evening before is on an external NVME. I was able to restore from it to my windows nvme drive in under 15 minutes.
  5. Insider KB5007328 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22478.1012 - Oct. 15

Spoke with Jen Gentleman from MS, they know about the SSE gsod and are still investigating the cause. I offered up my machine if they needed to test something on a "known GSOD candidate". Best advice so far, block the update and don't bang your head trying to figure it out. :)
  6. Insider KB5007328 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22478.1012 - Oct. 15

Yeah, had this too, gave up, restored to my known good build and blocked this one.
  7. ZADIG and Windows 11.

He actually gave me a cool idea. Setup device on Win 10. Export specific reg keys. Import keys on Win 11. There'll be several keys.
  8. ZADIG and Windows 11.

Well, tried again using WINUSB, still fails with the same permission issues. Latest DEV build.
  9. Solved XMP Necessary for Higher RAM speeds

I would bet...Not as many laptops have XMP capabilities. Most manu's really lock down their bios/uefi. MSI, fortunately, does NOT. I have XMP capability, but if I can get straight JEDEC at the highest rated speed, why bother? :)
  10. Solved XMP Necessary for Higher RAM speeds

I use a laptop. Plenty for them. amazon sodimm 3200 jedec
  11. Solved XMP Necessary for Higher RAM speeds

LOL back then, being "the Geek" or "nerd" wasn't a compliment.
  12. Solved XMP Necessary for Higher RAM speeds

Well, hell. I've been an IT guy since 1987. Things that just come naturally to me I keep forgetting that the average person who uses a computer just isn't going to know. You're absolutely right.
  13. Solved Backup Software suggestions other than ACRONIS

Macrium as well, but I'm a paid user. I take DAILY automated backups.
  14. ZADIG and Windows 11.

Just letting folks know. Driver signing and driver enforcement has changed with Win 11. The cool app ZADIG used to install WINUSB drivers for some oddball stuff no longer works. Had a chat with the developer and he's NOT sure there's a workaround or fix.
  15. Solved XMP Necessary for Higher RAM speeds

You could pay a bit more and get jedec compliant and not have to deal with XMP. My 64GB is jedec at 1.2V/3200. But there's a ton of folks who won't know this or know how to enable XMP.
