  1. TPM compatibility on older M/B's

Checked on the HP forums? Must be others with similar issues, and HP also has a habit of making support threads in to support tickets...at least on the server sections.
  2. TPM compatibility on older M/B's

You do know there are such things as addon TPM cards? You don't say its a laptop, so I am guessing it could be used in your desktop, @SEP555
  3. Quick Access: Increase Number of Frequently Accessed Folders

Ah. Dynamic. Well, Quickfolders do not have that functionality, but Recent files/folder in Explorer does. Under Privacy in my screenie. "Show recently used files" and "Frequently used folders" I disabled that since it gets cluttered real fast
  4. WIN 11 used PIN to often...no MS account...need logon pw

There are ways involving custom boot media. Search for rescue boot media and some of those will have apps include with options to NULL or RESET your Windows password.
  5. Quick Access: Increase Number of Frequently Accessed Folders

You can rightclick on just about any folder you have open and assign it a link in QuickAccess in the Explorer sidebar. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/pin-remove-and-customize-in-quick-access-7344ff13-bdf4-9f40-7f76-0b1092d2495b
  6. Solved How to Shutdown 'First Boot' Set up of Windows 11

Maybe this might help? Missing shutdown button in Windows 10 For Power, some laptops with dual battery have that option in BIOS which you need to know about if doing something with the hardware. Like Lenovo for instance.
  7. Analysing boot behaviour - something is slowing down Windows loading by at least 30 seconds

OK, @TechnoMage2021 , I get that. I was better at DOS back in W95, still know a bit, but more then. Thankyou for your kind words. @SIW2 That may very well have been it. I recall someone started a bit of a contest in getting boot times as low as possible and such a tool was used to help. Might...
  8. Analysing boot behaviour - something is slowing down Windows loading by at least 30 seconds

Yeah, many of us were there back in the day. I don't get why the disk cleaner app don't remove junk from prefetch or windows\temp... In any case, I am aware and I make some efforts towards that. Worst I see nowadays are Setup Scripts in InstallAnywhere or Installshield that don't cleanup their...
  9. Analysing boot behaviour - something is slowing down Windows loading by at least 30 seconds

yup, don't usually need to touch that though since AFAIK it is only called when you actually do changes in msconfig. Checked, revised. As mentioned in my first post Adobe has some autostarting crap, and some other apps that tend to leave processes in the background. Disable, rebooted, re...
  10. Analysing boot behaviour - something is slowing down Windows loading by at least 30 seconds

That's all pretty much standard measures and already done or discarded them. The thing here is, as I wrote in my first post, is that the screen goes blank for 30-40 seconds after I log in to Windows and only after that shows the desktop. That is why I need to find out exactly what is loading...
  11. Analysing boot behaviour - something is slowing down Windows loading by at least 30 seconds

God almighty, you threw me in to this jungle. Download and install the Windows ADK I'll see if I can sort it out.
  12. Analysing boot behaviour - something is slowing down Windows loading by at least 30 seconds

I'll give it a shot. Thanks. (Actually starting to suspect the NVME drive, but it's utility shows no errors)
  13. Analysing boot behaviour - something is slowing down Windows loading by at least 30 seconds

Back in the day there was this tool you could use in combination with bootsect (?) to analyse and measure exactly what process and drivers and apps were loading when starting Windows and from that information narrow down what caused slow boots and loading of Windows. Now I have this issue since...
  14. Map network drive is fubar

hi Jimbo, the NAS is ASUSTOR, not really sure what their os is, but Unix based. Ping works all ways, back and forth. I enabled sftp and was able to connect with filezilla, don't use it normally Already reconnected and rebooted everything, I have been troubleshooting this on and off for 3 days
  15. Map network drive is fubar

It started with my server... drops conn to networked drive from my nas. Reconnect fails with following message: So I started troubleshooting on the server and checked everything, So I figure it is just a glitch, do a quick net use and ping to check network connectivity (I am doing some...
