My OSD is somewhat different than the one on the link you provided. I did turn off Super Energy Saver. I did not see an Automatic Brightness control or Digital Fine Contrast function. I will watch it for awhile to see if turning off Super Energy Saver helped. Thanks
@Flashorn: Good thought but monitor was made in 2017, and general software is Windows 8.1 or older, with Windows 10 drivers from 2016 and 2017, so I don't think I want to try any of those. I might have to go with Winuser's suggestion and just buy some bluelight glasses.
I did not find anything like adaptive brightness in Nvidia Settings. I started using System>Display> Night light on to reduce blue light and brightness. I may just have to turn it off and set brightness down lower than the 50% it is running at now. but that probably won't help reduce blue light.
@Bree, thanks for the suggestion. I don't have a content adaptive brightness setting, or any brightness setting. I read the Tutorial and it is apparently only for laptops.
Display brightness slowly drops down from a comfortable level to barely readable for a few seconds and then back to normal. This happens a couple of times per hour, with no real variance in room brightness. It does not happen with the Night Light setting turned off in Windows Display Settings...
@andrew129260 Thanks for the info about Autoruns. I mentioned that I had run it in my first post and didn't find anything about thefancarpet.com, but I did not know about enabling the VirusTotal option. When I started computer this morning I did not have the previous problem, but I went ahead...
Thanks for the recommendations. I have done a full System Scan with Bitdefender and a Threat Scan with Malwarebytes with both showing a clean system. Since the data I posted originally seems to point to the Edge Browser, I deleted all Cookies and site data and set a Block to prevent...
At first start of my Windows 11 Pro 22631.3296 today, after logging in with Microsoft account, I updated the definitions in Bitdefender Total Security and Malwarebytes 4 Pro, with no browsers or programs running yet, and I got a popup notification that Malwarebytes had blocked something I didn't...
The active tab was foxnews.com when I left the browser to go work on documents. When I went back to the browser, that tab now only showed a black notice about 4 x 4 inches with the text from my first post. I searched Brave History and found the following:
Afterwards I deleted the Bookmark by...
Looking for suggestions on getting rid of nginx web server. Windows 11 Pro 23H@ 22631.2861 and Brave Browser 1.61.114, system 1. I had been working on various documents and went back to Browser to see an open tab with this popup message:

I had posted my problem with Windows update KB5032190 failing and causing corruption. My posts are lost behind many posts about CoPilot and Edge issues so thought I would post here to tell you I did try your Batch File (after restoring the laptop with Macrium, running Restore Health, SFC and...
Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the batch file and will try it later. SFC still running 75% after 4 hours so will be awhile before I try anything. I am afraid to stop SFC without letting it complete for fear it may screw things up worse.
A note of caution. All posts I read before were not having installation problems, so I unpaused Windows update this morning and started the updates, but got the "Something went wrong" and rolling back. The Dot Net KB did install. After Windows finished rolling back I ran Dism restore health and...
I had the same problem with failure to install KB5017389 and followed the advise from Porthos in the Malwarebytes Forum:
"For you and other readers....
If/when Malwarebytes is an issue, It does not have to be uninstalled just properly disabled.
First open Malwarebytes and turn off start with...
