I just double checked my T5. I formatted it NTFS ages ago and it works fine. I also turned off security and it is recognized when I boot from my Macrium usb rescue disk so I can recover the image I created previously without worrying about the password. I guess it would be the same if you use...
I have the same question. I have a Samsung T5 which is a great drive. I use Macrium for backups. However, if I boot from my Macrium rescue usb then how do I decrypt the T5 to restore the image ? At the moment I use the T5 for file backup and have another drive formatted NTFS for system images. I...
I have a similar arrangement to yourself. I created a small partition (1Gb) on Disk 0 and installed Macrium recovery in that partition. Now when I boot my laptop I can select Windows or boot to the Macrium recovery environment. No usb to worry about.
As you suggest, I would also try with partitions 2,3 and 4. I'm not sure that the 2 recovery partitions add much. Others may have other advice.

1. Put the old SSD back in the machine, boot and make sure all is working. You have done this.
2. Using your backup software of choice, (you are going to...
At this stage I would be inclined to try as follows:
1. Put the old SSD back in the machine, boot and make sure all is working.
2. Using your backup software of choice, make separate images of both Windows and system partitions.
3. Download W11 image and make bootable usb.
4. Re-install new SSD...
Thankyou. I keep my important personal files in a Veracrypt container which I am currently uploading to the Cloud - just in case !
Update: It is taking forever !
I have an external drive at home. I have another external drive at my son's. I have two partitions on my laptop: C: Windows and D: Data.
I use Ghost to image my C: drive to both external drives. I use Robocopy to backup my data to both external drives. The way I figure it is that all 3 hard...
