Great news ! Upgraded to the latest version of ExplorerPatcher.
Then I installed KB5021255 and rebooted. Once the pc was up and running, I tested the start menu.
It was broken as expected. I restarted ExplorerPatcher from the program itself and start menu began to work...
Yea .. guess I have some other issue. I rebooted twice after the start menu issue.
Currently I restored back to before the KB install till I figure out what is going on.
@Fredrik Preciate all your help ..
No. I didnt block it in the firewall.
If you go to Updates and click on Check for Updates does yours do anything?
Mine doesnt to anything. Wondering if it actually works in the backgroud
I do have notifications turned off.
I have rebooted several times now. Still doesn't work.
I went to Updates in ExplorerPatch and clicked on Check for Updates but it doesnt do anything.
Is that the correct action?

I noticed "Enable Symbols download" was already toggled to on.
Do you have to initialize the download?
How did you get it to download Symbols?
Is it automatically?
Same here. I am experiencing the same after KB5021255 was installed. My start menu seems to crash consistently.
Event Viewer is reporting the crash also.
I have ExplorerPatcher installed too.
By doing all these steps is it back to normal after the update?
Meaning the KB5021255 is still installed and ExplorerPatcher is installed too?
Have you rebooted to see if the issue comes back?
Have you tried to uninstall / reinstall ExplorerPatcher after the update install?
Not sure what version you are running but seems there is a new one.
