  1. Media Player Malfunction

I don't think so. I've been using that downloader for a few years now. But anyway, I've given up on Media Player. I'm now using the "Movies and TV" app, which works just as well. Thanks, everyone, for your concern.
  2. Media Player Malfunction

They're videos downloaded from YouTube, using the "4K Video Downloader Plus" software, and saved in mp4 format. I tried saving one in "MKV" format and the same thing happens. I can't find anything about encoding settings or metadata. Should that be on their "properties" tabs, or should I look...
  3. Media Player Malfunction

I downloaded and installed the K-Lite Mega from Major Geeks. But my Media Player is still giving the same message -- "the mp4 file can't be opened because it uses unsupported encoding settings". Is there something else that I still have to do?
  4. Media Player Malfunction

I downloaded https://files.1f0.de/lavf/nightly/LAVFilters-0.81.0-8.exe, but all it did was give me a folder containing their three "filters" -- LAV Audio, LAV Video, and LAV Splitter. Can I use those to fix the problem?
  5. Media Player Malfunction

I tried just now to download the K-Lite codec package -- from the "Codecs Guide" website which is supposed to be their creator -- and my antivirus program removed it, saying it contained something dangerous!
  6. Media Player Malfunction

I'm not sure what the issue is. It still plays mp3 files, and wav files, but it won't play mp4's. And with wmv files, some of them will play, but not all.
  7. Media Player Malfunction

No, I haven't done any installs or updates recently. And it was just yesterday that my media player suddenly stopped working.
  8. Media Player Malfunction

Something's gone wrong with my "Media Player" app. Whenever I try to play any "mp4" file, it says the file can't be opened because it uses "unsupported encoding settings". And it shows the error code "0x80070057". The files still work with other apps such as "Movies and TV" or "Windows Media...
  9. Another TV Quip......

No need to do that. I probably wouldn't recognize them anyway, because I didn't regularly watch Growing Pains. I must have seen that gag when I was visiting at someone else's house. The sitcoms I watched were the older ones like Leave It to Beaver, The Honeymooners, Dennis the Menace, and I Love...
  10. Another TV Quip......

I was just now recalling a cute line from a sitcom years ago. I can't even remember what show it was. A teenage boy, who is overweight and has extremely long hair, returns home from a doctor visit and tells his parents "The doctor says I'd better lose about 25 pounds." "No problem," says his...
  11. Another List

Yes, it's the Twilight Zone. Still my favorite show!
  12. Another List

No...... It was a series with episodes -- i.e. fictional stories. Maybe a LITTLE bit like Star Trek, but not the same.
  13. Another List

Here’s a hint: It was a show that had no regular cast -- Just guest stars, “extras”, and a narrator.
  14. Another List

No, but you're getting pretty close to the right answer!
  15. Another List

    Good guess. No, not Laugh-In.
