Faith
I suppose you'd consider me elderly, but I am not old in any way. The only thing I concede it that time goes faster the more years I've lived.
I am not even vaguely a computer nerd, though I do try to keep up. I use my computer a LOT, but it's not about the computers, but rather about what the computers can do. I have a large collection of machine embroidery files I'm trying to get and keep organized (200k+ files, 100s of folders). I do a lot of digital art, using GIMP and other open source programs. I go through cycles when I do a lot of writing. I check in on social media, but try not to spend a lot of time there. I belong to various creative groups for art, journaling, sewing and embroidery. Everything is on the computer. I do not game, chat very much, collect "friends" on social media (with all the likes and and trolls and arguments). I do like cat memes and videos, though. Despite how much I USE my computer, it's not my life.
Right now I'm very frustrated with what keeping Windows updated has taken away and made more difficult. I'm here to figure out anew how to do those things and find out if Windows 11 has any improvements useful to me. (Which I haven't found on my own in the past 36 hours). I'm hoping things are taking longer just because I haven't yet learned the ways of 11 yet, rather than because easier ways no longer exist.
I most likely will check in here only when I need help--or if I have an exceptionally "AHA!!" moment I think others would benefit from.
