That is what I did, by way of this YouTube video:
YOUTUBE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO:
Instead of the wmic command I used:
Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_UserAccount | Select-Object Name,SID
I changed the user folder 5 letter name (which is the first 5 letters of my microsoft email address), and now there is a problem.
I didn't know this, but supposedly if the desktop folder is marked for backup with OneDrive, this folder (desktop folder) is moved to the OneDrive folder.
Anyway...
Not restoring; cloning the 250gb that came with the laptop to a 500gb drive.
Well, this is what I'm planning to do, haven't even started, yet.
I think I sort of thought if I just installed the 500gb drive and started the laptop, Windows 11 would auto install itself, but I guess that isn't...
Yes, cloning. It's been a while since I've done this type thing.
I think I remember, now, that this is how I've done this in the past using Macrium Reflect.
I have a couple of M.2 NVMe external adapters, so I'll use one of those.
Oops, I seem to remember there may be a problem if the drives...
I have just purchased a new Acer Aspire 3 Spin S mode laptop from Amazon.
I used the included 256gb m.2 NVMe ssd to update the laptop and disable S mode.
Then, when I tried to install a PNY 500 GB M.2 NVMe SSD, I got something saying Repairing pc, but it didn't get repaired. It said, Repair...

Yeah, it was a tight fit with the cover slightly pressing on it, but while I was trying to get it working, I was not screwing down the cover.
If heatsink drives are not a good fit why are they being made, unless it is specifically laptops that are the bad fit, and in that case, shouldn't there...
Crucial claims that the laptop can use M.2 NVME SSDs as large as 4TB.
If that is the case, the Samsung 990 Pro w/ Heatsink should have worked, shouldn't it have? Or maybe it is the heatsink part of the drive that could be a problem?
Regardless, I have purchased a PNY 500gb M.2 nvme ssd from...
Problem solved.
I contacted Lenovo Chat, and this laptop will only upgrade to a 512gb drive.
I'm going to get one at Walmart soon.
And oh, by the way, to get the full memory included for the new SSD when cloning, there is an option after selecting the destination disk "Copy Partitions". After...
