  1. WiseCare 365

When this started, 8am yesterday morning, very few AV sites showed it as a PUP. Rather different today though the vast majority, including many majors like BitDefender, say it's clean.
  2. WiseCare 365

This did enable me to get the file and add it to the exceptions but unsurprisingly Defender still killed it when I tried to run it. Might have to forget it but I will have a look around first to see if there's anything out there from others.
  3. WiseCare 365

Defender is finding and deleting the download before I'm able to add it to the exclusions. I'll see if I can find it some other way.
  4. WiseCare 365

Thanks guys, I'll see if it can be added to the exclusions list. No too bothered if that turns out to be a bad move, there's nothing like a Macrium image for seeing off malware :-)
  5. WiseCare 365

Yes, first thing I did. It is not infected. I do use it from time to time but nowhere near as thorough as WiseCare, so no, not instead of. Scan with Malwarebytes about weekly. Always clean.
  6. WiseCare 365

No, haven't tried excluding the file until clearer on any risk it may present. There is no way to verify the download.

Downloading with Firefox. When I run the exe Defender gives -
  8. WiseCare 365

I've been using this for years on both Win 10 and Win 11 systems without issues of any sort but yesterday the the program failed to start on both of my systems. Seems the shortcuts have overnight been rendered inoperative. Tried redownloading but Windows (Defender) won't allow the exe to run...
  9. LTBootstrap.vbs

Few years ago I played around with a Timeshift type program whose name I can't now remember but it did require downloading additional files from MS, probably MDT files. I probably did try it on the laptop before finally dropping it The supplier confirms it is part of the MDT and advises not...

    Here you go -
  11. LTBootstrap.vbs

Thanks for that, however if I try to paste it here as a text file i get 'Image file type is invalid'
  12. LTBootstrap.vbs

It's a Lafite 14 and was configured by PC Specialist in the UK. Think I'll ask them if they know anything about it.
  13. LTBootstrap.vbs

Not on this machine. Purchased new in Nov 21 with Win 11 Pro and never messed about with at all.
  14. LTBootstrap.vbs

LTIBootstrap.vbs is sitting in my C: drive. No idea what it does but Defender doesn't object to it and my system doesn't seem to have any issues. Do I need to do anything? I could try removing it and restoring an image afterwards if all OK. Any ideas?
  15. Another option instead of TeamViewer

For years I used TeamViewer simply to enable me to use the Win10 PC upstairs from my Win 11 laptop in the lounge where we spend most of our time.. It always worked faultlessly though I had constantly to ensure TV on the PC never got updated beyond v13. Then I discovered that Remote Desktop...
