    I'm using Outlook on my phone. I never have to change the password on that, as it somehow syncs automatically with any password change I do on my desktop.

    I also use like two-step verification, where rather than use my basic Hotmail password, I use a generated one that I copy and paste into Live Mail. I've even tried that, and the error keeps popping up where it fails to log in.

    Incoming Mail (IMAP): imap-mail.outlook.com Outgoing Mail (SMTP): smtp-mail.outlook.com That's my set up/configuration I use for Live Mail.

    I still use the Windows Live Mail app. Even though it's years old, I've always preferred it. It shouldn't matter as the imap settings are the same as if I was using Outlook/a newer app. I also use my old Hotmail email address.

    On my phone it works and via a browser. It's just using Windows Live Mail it keeps on happening. It's been fine for months, and but now it's started happening for some reason.

    It could also be to do with my phone being linked via the same IP address onto my computer. More often than not, even with a VPN, Google still knows my location. Looking it up though, it doesn't mean the VPN isn't working.
