I’ve solved the problem, or rather Glaskutter did. Saturday 25 March. Apparently, the latest Win 11 update conflicted with several Apps that require GUI updates.

I used DELL supportassist to update my drivers. The computer has rebooted without trouble several times. Perhaps the computer shut down during windows update, and that screwed up the drivers?

I went into the ‘advanced options’ startup menu. Just for the hell of it, I uninstalled an windows update that came this morning and two earlier updates. GOOD NEWS. Now the PC boots. Do you recommend I let windows update my computer again?
