Thank you. Yes the back up is there but I expected it to tell me to set up the account first. I will continue with it tomorrow and before I do zi will copy the back up.pst file first and locate it somewhere on the C drive. Then hopefully the risk of everything going to 💩will be removed

All of my backups (documents, photos etc) are on an external hard drive including the email back up. Nothing is on the cloud or onedrive. Should it be somewhere else? When I open Outlook it immediately asks for the backup password so is that normal? It then takes me through the import/export steps.

Sounds good to me. MS make everything sound so simple, child's play but it isn't. In fact it's a long way from being simple and easily understood and when sh#t happens it becomes a real problem.

🤣🤣🤣 I'm rapidly feeling the same way. Hoping that my new PC behaves itself but the first thing that zi will do is switch off the offending drive system. My old PC seems to be behaving itself now.

Blimey what a pain in the rear. Onedrive really messed up my current and quite old PC. Created new folders and duplicated lots of stuff. I have un synced it for the time being so the drives no longer show up in file explorer
