A short update to the situation (it's the same), and some new weirdness that I can resolve by rebooting or throwing away the Windows Explorer.
1) Explorer has crashed with the same error a couple more times (last one was yesterday).
There is some sort of warning that I forgot to mention and...
Thank you all for the suggestions.
dxdiag:
no problems found (in all tabs)

No problems other than 3 Explorer crashes on May 30, 2 more on 31st, and 1 for June first. The future looks (un)promising :)
I didn't try uninstalling the graphics drivers. They have been working fine...
An old problem with Windows Explorer crashing when its GDI objects got too high, was fixed with a registry patch (mentioned in that old thread). Since that time, Explorer behaved.
Now with the latest 25H2 26200.8524 it started crashing again for a different reason.

I had a similar thing happen yesterday.
MSEdge crashed and when I restarted it again I opened 3 tabs to a market site. Lots of advertising through AI there and might have been the culprit.
Then something happened with Explorer and I got a popup that memory was running low (I have 64GB).

Thank you much Try3.
I have disabled driver updates for a long time now.
Luckily, I believe I fixed the problem and clarified my understanding of Intel's naming convention.
A Googled suggestion to handle exit code 8, was to check the BIOS and 'enable GPU multi monitor'.
I checked and it was...
Hello.
The following is on Windows 11 25H2 (Build 26200.8246).
I have an addon NVidia RTX card and never paid much attention to the Intel one running on the system's processors.
Lately, because of the delays in Intel updated drivers, I paid attention.
According to the computer's manual, the...
I believe I've successfully did this.
After updating the computer with the latest BIOS (that had the vendor's 2023 certificate), I run garlin's scripts and got this at the end:

Secure Boot: ON

An update on my post above (#8).
I updated the registry entry (explained in the URL mentioned in #8) from its default 10000 (dec) to 20000 (dec).
No Explorer crashes until last night for the same reason as before.
Now I raised the number to 40000 (dec) and that should last me for a long time...
This nightmare, has been around since a couple of years ago, when I set up a new computer with Win 11 on it.
But I think I might have discovered the reason for it (will be tested after I restart the system).
Symptoms:
You open up a bunch (around 20 or so) of Explorer folders. At some point...
Much ado about nothing maybe?
See if you installed any program lately that deals with something related to astronomy.
Sometimes they set themselves as handlers of various types of files.
I tried the link in my computer and it looks like Houdini (a graphics app) has taken control of jpeg images...
