Places like Rhode Island, it is all Trees, People there must long for lakes or oceans because the trees are EVERYWHERE and a person might feel boxed in until they get to a open space like a lake or the ocean shore, where I live in Wyoming you can see forever, I drive 10 minutes to the east and its like I have a Million acers all to myself and I can see for miles. I have OVERSEER, my Dad started the Smallest Computerland store Franchise in the USA and it boomed for the 1rst 4 years. Folks were talking Medical School for me but things went south at Computerland when IBM released the Patents or they ran out and everyone could make clones. Would would today be like if IBM still had total control over firmware and the motherboard. Its been interesting to watch the Industry grow, the IBM AT had a 8086 Processor that ran and 8mhz and had a 8 bit architecture. Then the 2086 with 16bit Architecture, then the 80386. I had a Epson 80386 machine with a 66Mhz processor speed. Back then Autocad 11 was around and I was hooked on CAD. The moment Photoshop came out I grabbed on to that because I loved to do Art. I used to setup SCSI hard drives for CAD and Photoshop machines. The bottleneck and the corruption was located at the hard drive back then. Some of these machines could be very slow. I have watched the OSs and the hardware evolving. When Dad first started Computerland we visted RI and Main as our family came to USA and lived in RI ~1650. Dad said he never took us on a Vacation really and it was time. I say OVERSEER because I am watching the Industry Not sure how it all ties together with the trees and the open desert - I supposed we are connected now so much more. I sure thank you all - its not like I can ask my buddy on the metro bus about PC operating system - I'm grateful for these 7 - 8 10 11 forums so a small town Wyoming Guy can find things out.
