  1. (Drive Letter) The directory name is Invalid. Letter is a CD-DVD-BD drive (UP: Discs read as "RAW")

The enclosure is actually brand new but the issue existed before I got it. It would be a hassle to unscrew everything and get the drive out and put a 3.5" HDD in it. But, like I said in the opening post, putting a thumb drive or other external drive to other USB ports just works as expected. My...
  2. (Drive Letter) The directory name is Invalid. Letter is a CD-DVD-BD drive (UP: Discs read as "RAW")

Sure, I can do that. Also, actually, my Pioneer drive wasn't on D:\ before and it did it on the old letter as well. Also, the 5.25" drive is in a USB 5.25" enclosure. So both are external. Both drives empty: Both drives with a CD in them: Screenshot of Directory Opus showing My PC, while...
  3. Browser tab, then computer, crash, from EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ

That can never hurt. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.
  4. Browser tab, then computer, crash, from EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ

I would only worry if it continues to crash consistently. Error like these can happen - especially if it's normal RAM and not ECC RAM. Normally, Windows is now sofisticated enough to recover from RAM errors without even you knowing there was an error to begin with. And, sometimes, well, it was...
  5. (Drive Letter) The directory name is Invalid. Letter is a CD-DVD-BD drive (UP: Discs read as "RAW")

Hey guys. This error box has been giving me troubles for a while now. I can't really explain what's going on but I can at least explain how it happens and I can trigger it on demand. But, first, a tiny bit of background: I collect physical media - especially audio CDs. For me, it's a matter of...
  6. AC-3 (Dolby Digital) codec no longer included with Windows 11 version 24H2

Personally, I don't see the use in installing these as many solutions exist to playback audio encoded as such like foobar2000 (for audio only), PotPlayer (for audio and video), VLC, and so many others that I wonder why such a codec being removed from baseline Windows being such a headache.
  7. Windows 11 version 23H2 End of Servicing on November 11, 2025

That made me double-check them again (after viewing them to see what was the power supply I had) and saw that the KB&M were outdated lol
  8. Windows 11 version 23H2 End of Servicing on November 11, 2025

Yeah. I did all the ragmarole to protect myself against an unwanted upgrade. (Sorry for the bump).
  9. Windows 11 version 23H2 End of Servicing on November 11, 2025

Dude... that's so early. All the horror stories I've heard about 24H2... I just don't wanna... 23H2 works great.

I'm glad to see other physical CDs collector! Seeing these posts, you got some SACDs huh. I'd personally get those if I had the way to play them as SACDs. But then, I shouldn't speak too much because I got a Laserdisc simply because it's a rare item from my favorite Japanese rock band...

Yep, it is! (Just using Darkreader addon).
  12. So, I "bricked" my Windows 11 install yesterday...

Hey, what's up! I'm actually 36 now. xD
  13. So, I "bricked" my Windows 11 install yesterday...

I understand your strategy - especially, if you are alpha/beta testing and things might break easily, getting these images ready might be a good thing to have around. For me, I don't remember the last time I legit broke my Windows installation or Windows broke itself with an update or...
  14. So, I "bricked" my Windows 11 install yesterday...

That was the first time ever that I tried this fonction. Events in a nutshell: 1. Decided to re-install Windows 11 in July. Ported my MS Layout Creator fine. 2. Removed language with Regedit so language bar disappeared 3. Tried to make changes with MS Layout creator after that re-install. Too...
  15. So, I "bricked" my Windows 11 install yesterday...

Yo. Long time no see. I may not be active as much as I was around the Windows 7 days but hey, I'm still around and if I need some help, I'll probably ask around here. Anyway, to the story. I have become a keyboard layout snob of some sort - in that I use a custom keyboard layout. Now, it's...
