  1. Insider Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22489 (rs_prerelease) - Oct. 27

I don't usually get this upset at an operating system. It's created by humans who are not perfect. User shares usually have to be re-shared after an update like this. I don't know if it's my computer or what but when I went to share the files again with Everyone it went bonkers and showed only...
  2. Constant BSOD's - can't find the cause

Use Windows search to search for Windows Memory Diagnostic and run it to see if your memory is working as it should.,
  3. os build 22000.194 Laptop power issue

Sorry I was referring the information to the original poster. He has AMD. I should've used his moniker. The new drivers have a new power plan.
  4. os build 22000.194 Laptop power issue

Have you tried AMD's new drivers that came out a week ago? I think I saw AMD as your cpu.
  5. Seniors and Windows11

Windows to me is just a way to run applications. I think it is easier to learn than Photoshop and all of its parts like Bridge, Lightroom and Creative Cloud. I also use a computer for taxes and generating movies. If you can learn Photoshop you can learn almost anything. If I lost interest in...

  7. Insider Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22454 (RS_PRERELEASE) - Sept. 9

I installed AMS's chipset drivers and I see no difference. This is a test computer and I see no need to run it at best performance when it is coasting most of the time, The CPU maxes out when needed anyway, Thanks for giving me some ideas. If you lower the power plan on your computer to balanced...
  8. Insider Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22454 (RS_PRERELEASE) - Sept. 9

Thanks for the info. I checked with CPUZ and it shows the same speed as Windows shows.
  9. Insider Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22454 (RS_PRERELEASE) - Sept. 9

Thanks for the ideas. If you look at CPU performance you can watch it go up and down. I have watched it on and off for an hour and it never drops below 3.7 ghz. Are you seeing a significant drop in your CPU ghz when it's idling? In Windows 10 mine drops below 2 ghz, My Windows 11 installation...
  10. Insider Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22454 (RS_PRERELEASE) - Sept. 9

Hi geneo. The bios is set up correctly. I put Windows 10 back on the PC and the CPU Ghz is lowered as designed. It drops from 3.8 Ghz to around 2. I will check out the power plan to make sure something hasn't changed it to 100%. I appreciate the suggestion. EDIT> I checked the power plan and...
  11. Insider Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22454 (RS_PRERELEASE) - Sept. 9

"Try again in several minutes, your up time is only 18 minutes, so it might actually be doing something in the background - like maybe downloading an update / scanning files, etc." I've had the PC on for hours and it does the same thing. Did you check your PC to see if it's doing what it's...
  12. Insider Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev Build 22454 (RS_PRERELEASE) - Sept. 9

I'm still having a problem with power efficiency. It's not working on this PC with Windows 11. I loaded Windows 10 back on and power efficiency works. I have the setting under power options and power mode set to best power efficiency which should drop the cpu speed from 3.8 Ghz down to around 2...
  13. KB5005190 Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev and Beta Build 10.0.22000.132 - August 12

I am using Best power efficiency. The CPU should drop down to the low 2Ghz range like it did under Windows 10. It makes the rig a lot cooler.
  14. KB5005190 Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev and Beta Build 10.0.22000.132 - August 12

The CPUis at 0% or 1%. It is idling...
  15. KB5005190 Windows 11 Insider Preview Dev and Beta Build 10.0.22000.132 - August 12

I've noticed my CPU never drops its speed even when the system is idling and the power setting is set for best power efficiency. I'm wondering if it's associated with this rig or is a W11 problem.
