    I turned Windows Update back on and have attempted several software update. I did not see that driver pop up again for download however, keep an eye out just in case it pops up. I have yet to see any information from Microsoft or from Neowin.net about this issue.

    Reason why I did the safe boot with network turned off is to prevent Microsoft forcing the reinstallation of the driver after deleting it.
