  1. Point-in-time restore for Windows 11 is now generally available

Thanks @trevo . I'm not sure if I will use PITR. I use Macrium Reflect X and it's always worked well for me. I don't have much data stored on the PC'S (mostly external HDD) so I don't do a backup every day. The only changes are browser and app updates which can be updated again quickly. I...
  2. Point-in-time restore for Windows 11 is now generally available

If I don't manually delete the PITR restore points but turn the feature off, would any PITR restore points be deleted according to the retention time or does it need to be on to do this?
  3. Point-in-time restore for Windows 11 is now generally available

Thanks @cereberus. Can you manually delete the restore points from inside Settings? Thanks.
  4. Point-in-time restore for Windows 11 is now generally available

Thanks @FrancoDT. I'm going to wait until the July CU but was just looking for some advance info so I can turn it off before it creates a Restore Point. I'll stick to Macrium X. Thanks again.
  5. Point-in-time restore for Windows 11 is now generally available

Just a question about PITR Restore points. I'm not an Insider so I don't have PITR yet, but I understand it's switched on by default. If I don't want to use it and turn it off, if a Restore Point has been created, is it deleted immediately when I turn it off? Thanks.
  6. Solved Windows Settings — Why does System > Storage trigger a UAC prompt?

Yes this was introduced I think in either the April or May Cumulative Update. The June Update has changed it again at least for 2 of our pcs. On them, when you click on storage, no UAC appears but there's a separate "Clean Up System Files" button at the top which uses UAC.
  7. Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026

Hi @cereberus . Thanks for the reply. I'll give wifi calling a try. Our 5g service is strong probably because we have a new dedicated 5g mast about 300 meters from the house - not sure about the spec of the mast. Thanks again.
  8. Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026

Hi @Edwin . No. Flight mode is still off when battery saver is on. Not sure if it's a localised problem?
  9. Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026

Hi. Sorry. Just saw the other replies. I want to keep 5g running when using battery saver as the 4g in our area isn't strong. Our 5g is more reliable. Battery saver seems to be stopping 5g which I need.
  10. Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026

Hi @cereberus . Yes, I already have 5g preferred under mobile networks. However, when I turn on standard battery saver it stops all calls and emails. There was an option on my older a52, to use battery saver and in the settings for that you could keep 5g on. This toggle is missing from the a57.
  11. Samsung One UI 8.5 Official Rollout Starts May 6, 2026

Just got a new A57 a few days ago and wanted to use Battery Saver. In my old A52 under Standard Saver I could keep 5g turned on but the rest off. The turn 5g on/off option seems to have gone. I turned Standard Saver on and missed calls etc. Have they removed the 5g option or hidden it somewhere...
  12. Win Update KB5094126 Windows 11 Cumulative Update build 26100.8655 (24H2) and 26200.8655 (25H2) - June 9

Hi. Updated 2 of our 4 pcs today - both very slow downloads. I've noticed that Settings/Storage has a new "Clean Up System Files" button which I haven't used yet. On one pc that has a MS Account alongside a local account when cleaning Local Account Storage you aren't asked for the Admin pin any...
  13. Solved Latest Macrium Reflect X updates

Like @Caledon Ken I made the upgrade to Macrium X. In the couple of backups I have done on 3 PCs, the backup speed has been 3 - 5 minutes longer than v8. X chose System Cache as the write method - not a huge issue but I was hoping for a reduction in backup time. Is it necessary to redo the USB...
  14. Solved Checking For Dell Driver Updates.

That's great. Thanks very much for all the advice. Mitch
  15. Solved Checking For Dell Driver Updates.

Thanks very much everyone for your advice. This gives me several options. I don't think I'm going to reinstall Dell Supportassist. Is Dell Remediation required? I use Macrium Reflect 8 and X with bootable usb rescue media. I've never needed Remediation and I've heard it's a bit of a resource...
