It depends whether you wish to have the extra security it provides. You need to be fully aware of the implications of running BitLocker, mainly that you absolutely must back up your recovery keys in case you need them at any time. Fwiw I use BitLocker and have all drives and their partitions...

A reinstall will give allocate new keys. The Bitlocker management screen has the option to back up your keys to various places including MS account, USB drive etc. To anyone reading this and using Bitlocker please make sure you have recovery keys in a format you can access easily if needed.

You mean 29599 was to unstable/unusable. For anyone with weird issues it might be worth temporarily disabling Fast Start.

Same for me, not being offered this one. Fwiw I just clean installed 29595 yesterday and it has big issues for me with what seem like kernel issues when shutting down. Maybe the block on this being offered is deliberate at this time for me given all the 'hangs' I have experienced.

I created the bootable drive on the day.... which was 48 hours ago. WinRE had already been moved to sys32 and there was no recovery partition (I had deleted it)

Interesting. What I was actually doing was resizing and moving the WinRE partition and I originally made a mess of it. So I had the Windows WinRE disabled and moved to the sys32 area and no working recovery partition on the drive. Those were the conditions I created the bootable MR media under...
