I've just spotted something quite by chance that only appears when you compose a message... I was trying this on another PC that is running the latest 'New Mail' but on a regular W11 build. Its not obvious on a dark theme. It seems to work and allows pasting.

Thanks @Ghot At the point the backup was made there was nothing Dell specific installed by me. The only Dell utility I do install is the Audio part of the 'Dell Optimiser' because that is needed to configure the headphone and line in sockets depending what you want to use them for.
