I returned to W10. I am going to guess 11 did not play nice with a lot of my customizations. All's back to normal. thx for viewing.

sounds logical - however, there is no activity in this case. the pc is idle, so this is a mystery to me.

Brand new to this OS. Used the upgrade to 11 feature that's been nagging me for weeks. First glaring observation is the Windows Explorer task power usage is 'very high'. A restart of the task calms it down but not for long. -thx
