  1. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

A positive update - for anyone interested. On a Dell forum someone suggested stopping any 'Killer' services. I had Killer Analytics and Killer Network running. As soon as I stop these my Wi-Fi speed increases, from around 25/27mbps to 100mbps! I don't have the technical know-how to understand...

Thanks. Unfortunately we have the BT hub system where we have an extra 'disc' in the lounge that the smart TV connects to. I don't think (though don't know for sure) that there's any way around not having the bt router.

Thanks for the suggestion. This didn't work either I'm afraid.
  4. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

Hi. Thanks for the reply. The router is in the hall and we have one disc in the lounge ( to help when we are in there and, mostly, to have a better connection to the Smart TV). It's not the house is particularly big, more that the walls are very thick. I use my laptop practically all the time...
  5. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

An update, from me the author of this post. Thanks to everyone who has contributed. I cannot split the bands as it is a BT SmartHub 2. A link has been shared as to how to try to do this using an extender, but I don't know whether to go down that route. I'm also a little reluctant to do...
  6. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

Thanks for your input. The image below shows the router settings - I don't know whether the way they are shown means they are already separate. One thing though that puzzles me about changing anything on the router is that my partner does not have any issue (see earlier posts). So wouldn't that...
  7. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately this didn't have any effect on the speed.
  8. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

In Device Manager, it was showing the drivers were up to date, however I went direct to Intel and it did show the ones above so I downloaded them. However, still no change. Speed test consistently shows 25/26mpbs.
  9. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

Under 'Preferred Band' I did select the 5GHz option, but it won't save; it reverts to the default. Screen grabs below showing what's under the second option
  10. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

Thanks. I don't have the same options as you do. There's a screen grab below. I did change the value of the existing property to '1.5GHz 802.11a', but it didn't make it any better.

My settings have changed from the above. No idea why! - see below
  12. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

  13. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

Thanks. I've checked and drivers are ok.
  14. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

I am already on 5GHz. I've posted a screengrab of settings
  15. Slow WIFI on my laptop (Intel wifi 6E), but OK on another with just 6

Thanks for the reply. Here's a screenshot as requested - I've also captured my partner's settings too, to compare.
