Sent an email out yesterday and low and behold, contacts re-populated right before my eyes. Go figure. Will check the laptop later this morning. Thanks to everyone for the input.
Two Apple friends have contacted me as another one of our group has asked for help with the same issue with Outlook Classic. Surprising that there is not more in here on the topic.

I figure this is happening after updates. Last time "People" was empty, but contacts were available when using BCC etc.
This time "People" is fully populated but there are no contacts available when using Bcc or anything else. Couple showing up under favorites. I don't know how to get them...
Belated, but I did do the system recovery procedure, so thanks. Will give fast copy a go; I have a work around here at least that involves my old laptop.
Happy New Year to all that have tried to help me with this issue. Not going to be resolved anytime soon me thinks. So, I got the laptop hooked to the pc with a bridging cable. I am using the laptop to do what I want with the big files, then I copy or move them over to the correct folder on...
I have done the system-recovery process; no change; weird sitting at my desk with an old win 11 laptop that does the job while right next to it is my much newer pc with the problem. I have contained all issues on the 2T SSD so I can't blame the other 3 drives, at least I don't think I can.
