Thanks...but another problem in my situation is that I use a docked setup for both my personal and work laptops and the work laptop is completely locked down, so I'm unable to install anything and I need a solution that will cover both computers.
It's the Creative USB driver that's the culprit, I'm sure!
I connected the speakers via Bluetooth and no issues whatsoever; it's only via USB that the issue occurs. Furthermore, while using USB, if I use the physical buttons on the Pebble to raise or lower the volume, then the volume setting...
Hi,
I have the Creative Pebble Nova speakers connected via USB and just recently, all apps are playing audio louder than the master volume setting. Since, by default, these apps have their volume setting at 100%, they end up playing at 100% of my Pebble!!!
The only thing I can do with the...
So, I'm totally aware of daisy-chaining and I tried it once, ages ago, but because of resolution limitations with 3 monitors, I opted not to use it.
My only guess is that because the physical disconnect happens after Windows sleeps, is that it wakes up thinking that the connections are still...
Can you clarify exactly what you mean by resuming with only one of the two external monitors? That is, is only one monitor physically powered on/connected? Also, I'm presuming that the power off/disconnect happens after your laptop has been put to sleep, correct?
So, I have three external...
Does this firmware get updated automatically? How do I check which version I am currently running?
I just upgraded from the MX Master 3S to the 4 and I want to make sure I have everything up-to-date.
Thanks!
No, there's no change...USB drives are assigned the drive letter you assigned (unless already in use).
I allow myself to attach up to two "transient" USB drives (D: and E:) at the same time. Thus, for my USB drive that I use for my local backups, I have it assigned as F: and this drive letter...
And to think I was headed down the Storage Spaces path because I thought that was the only option.
Thanks again, @hdmi, for all the insights and details but, most of all, thanks for the DrivePool recommendation! 🙏
Or, you could build me one! 🤣
In all seriousness, now that you brought StableBit DrivePool to my awareness, the number of NVMe slots I require would change (as in reduced).
You see, the reason I originally mentioned 6 NVMe slots is because I wanted to replicate RAID 5, I thought Windows...
Yes, I do this now on my laptop (My Windows drive and two other data drives are all BitLocker-encrypted with auto-unlock) but my preference is to manually encrypt and monitor.
After reading various parts of the manual from the link you had provided, it was clear that the pool itself is...
You know, I haven't been intrigued and excited like this about software since forever, it seems like! 🤣
Thanks for the link...I read through other parts of the manual to get a better understanding and, wow, I am sold!
Yeah, I know RAID 5 uses parity data and I've had to replace a bad disk, and...
Thank you, @hdmi! 🙏
I currently have RAID 5 for my QNAP and learned about Storage Spaces so that I would be able to setup the same in Windows. But I never heard of DrivePool and, after looking it up, wow, it certainly is interesting!
I found a reddit post stating that with full duplication...
Thanks for these suggestions, @glasskuter! 🙏
I had already settled on NVMe but have no experience regarding which brands are better but for my QNAP, I'm using WD Red HDDs.
For the record, the NAS configuration I have and would want again is also in the 4-digit price tag. But, yeah, my NAS is...
