Brink, thank you so much! Your instructions made it clear how to deal with this, and I've now retrieved my folders. I do intensely dislike that onedrive sync is the default, as I should have been given notice before anything was synced to any server. I appreciate your expertise!

Hello. I'm completely new with Windows 11, and have never before been involved with onecloud. I don't want anything sent to a cloud. After spending hours getting programs set up, and shortcuts set up on my desktop, I turned off onecloud. All but a few of the items on my desktop disappeared...
