Lord, the Clean Boot process looks like a lot of steps. Before I go ahead with all of that, I should probably confirm, when exactly in the process should I be doing that? Prior to these problematic updates, and then using the clean boot environment to install them?

November Patch Tuesday last month gave me a big issue - computer wouldn't shut down properly. It'd "Shut down" apparently but then the LED would stay on and the fans still spinning. Nothing fixed it, it was due to that update, so I rolled back and put updates on hold. Now December patch tuesday...

Good point, in that case yeah you were probably right about what that footnote means. In which case, it's surprising this function is now released to the public yet without a way to de-activate already. I suppose we'll have to wait until we get the new start menu.

Thankfully, this isn't as bad as it sounds as generally, apps updating is a good thing. It's unrelated to this specific issue though, but it's a good find and thanks for sharing

That's really weird. It's possible that those reg tweaks only work IF you have the new start menu maybe? Seeing as this is a new thing with 25H2. And in all other cases, those tweaks just do what they've always done? For clarity, what were those 3 tweaks again exactly? As there's several that...
