No, but it should be easy enough to compile it to an executable which takes the shortcut link as a parameter? Mind you, I have very little experience with C# ...
I followed this exactly and attempting to add Registry Editor to Group3 did not work at all. I am running 22H2, build 22621.819.
It seems others have reported this so is it possible to get a definitive answer? Does anybody know if this has been acknowledged and if and when it might be fixed...
Hello Brink. I am not interested in those at the moment, but I am interested in Add Custom Shortcuts to Win+X Quick Link Menu in Windows 11
Unfortunately, it does not work for me (22H2, 22621.819). I will post a reply there with this finding.
Brink, many thanks for all your help and suggestions (even if none of them worked - hardly your fault :-))
I have a temporary solution which works for me. I am using ExplorerPatcher GitHub - valinet/ExplorerPatcher: This project aims to enhance the working environment on Windows. I then...
Well, I did the repair install and guess what ... I still have the same problem - No Terminal, Powershell or Command prompt on the WinX menu
I'll maybe look into that tomorrow. I don't have the installation media but I think Advanced startup will give me that option and get everything it needs from the recovery partition - I'll double check with the Dell docs ...
But, in the meantime, my WinX menu does not have any options for Terminal, Powershell or Command prompt and there seems to be no way of getting them back (short of reinstalling Windows ...HaHa)
No, it doesn't. I created a new local account first as a standard user and then as Administrator. In neither case does Terminal or Powershell (or Command Prompt) appear in the WinX right-click menu. I am of the opinion that the WinX functionality in Windows 11 is simply broken - and googling...
The same shortcuts (copied from the unzipped WinX.ZIP) are in both these locations:
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WinX\Group3\
C:\Users\pauln\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WinX\Group3\
I used the method in Option 2 to restore the default WinX menu entries. I unzipped the file mentioned and copied all the Group3 entries from the unzipped file to the Default Group3 folder and the user Group3 folder. After restarting Windows Explorer there were still no entries for Terminal...
That was the answer - In HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache I changed the data for
C:\Program Files\PSPad editor\PSPadAdmin.exe.FriendlyAppName
from PSPad to PSPad (Admin) and it works
Many thanks to everybody for their contributions and help. I will...
