    I have chosen the default Download folder as C:1, but as I have many downloaded files in there I found useful when Chrome Displayed the message "show in folder' but it has stopped doing that so I have to search for the downloaded file

    I have tried all your suggestions, mainly DOS commands, I have not tried shutting down from Safe Mode as I have much difficulty getting out of Safe mode so much so that the only way I can get out is to restore an image made earlier. Thank you again for all you suggestions.

  11. My Win 11 PC will neither shutdown or restart witout using the power button

    My apologies, it is indeed a typo, I meant to say the HDD/SSD light stops flickering eventually but the power light for the PC stays on. Another suggestion I had was to type the following command 'Powercfg -h off' into an administrative DOS box, I did that but it did not work.

    Thank you for your reply. I am trying to shut down my PC but it will not switch off, monitor turns off and SSD C:\ drive light goes out but computer power light stays on. I have never tried to put my PC to sleep, only on or off.
