Yes I am using the front USB port - the only one that is specified as a USB 3.1 Gen 2, USB C port as required by Toshiba.
Any suggestions why the SSD stays on and heats up when I shut down?
I have a Toshiba T7 2TB portable SSD connected through the USB 3.1 Gen 2, USB C port on my HP ProDesk 400 G6 Desktop Mini PC. Data transfer speeds are no where near the claimed 1050 MB/s.
In addition when I shut down my PC the SSD remains on and heats up over time.
