  1. Anyone using a mechanical keyboard?

That's quite generic. Which model and type of switches eg. cherry, banana, brown, etc.? Browns are no good for me. I want minimal force or pressure to press a key — not fully down but also receive some feedback that I have pressed it. This is critical.
  2. Anyone using a mechanical keyboard?

Thanks. That indeed might be. Too bad there's no place I can try and return it if not satisfied. Edit: apparently this keyboard is ridiculously loud and does need some force compared to what I expect and the previous M version according to the reviews I read.
  3. Anyone using a mechanical keyboard?

Thanks for sharing. I did try that or a similar keyboard at the Apple store before and it's not a good feel for me.
  4. Anyone using a mechanical keyboard?

Thanks everyone so far for the responses. I actually bought and returned a few different Keychrons because they were not what I was looking for! Researching mechanical keyboards has become a colossal failure and put me in a long and deep rabbit hole. As a last resort, I thought I would post...
  5. Anyone using a mechanical keyboard?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and perspective from the community—especially from those who have been typing for a few decades. I’ve been a "typis"t for over 45 years, and to this day, the absolute gold standard for me remains the IBM Selectric typewriter. It was incredibly...
  6. New update of CCleaner

You can still download it from the official page here .
  7. New update of CCleaner

That's what I am using because according to the users in the forum, version 7 is a mess.
  8. Chrome now runs in the background thanks to Gemini AI

Over the last 24 hours CCleaner was prompting me that Chrome was running in the background. Sometimes a force close within CCleaner didn't work. I had to perform a manual task manager shutdown or chrome://quit. All other settings haven't changed like pre-loading webpages were already toggled...
  9. Should or shouldn't: try Windows 11 (again)

Lol, I can see my post triggered you. While some of your info makes sense, it wasn’t asked for and doesn’t help. Are you posting for likes, amusement, or just trolling? Besides, some users are forced to use W11 and actually don't like it. Isn't that wild?!
  10. Should or shouldn't: try Windows 11 (again)

I’ve had Windows Update disabled since October 2024 on my Windows 10 laptop, but I recently re-enabled it, and, unsurprisingly, a bunch of updates were installed. Before this, I downgraded from Windows 11 to Windows 10 with a fresh factory image reinstall due to some performance issues and...
  11. Latest Firefox released for Windows

I have Firefox on a Windows 7 system with 6GB of RAM. It's soooooo slow! I don't think even running Linux can save it if I want to access the web with Windows 7.
  12. Latest Google Chrome released for Windows

Version 139/140 in Chrome is the target date. Other Chromium based browsers like Brave, Edge. Vivaldi, and Opera will delay the block as long as possible.
  13. Latest Google Chrome released for Windows

Chrome has removed many non MV3 complaint extensions now. There are temporary workarounds but suffice to say Google wants to impose ads and make the browsing experience horrible given this. Most extensions like JShelter, uBlock and Malwarebytes now have a note saying the extension is basically...
  14. Apps Uninstall and Reinstall OneDrive in Windows 11

Turning off OneDrive is one thing, but the above registry hack won't reset your desktop, folders, etc. to what they should be, Instead, they have become part of the OneDrive directory.
  15. Apps Uninstall and Reinstall OneDrive in Windows 11

It's all about monetization. When I installed W10 for the first time I was so pissed off that OneDrive was so deeply embedded. I had a helluva time trying to remove it and resetting my personal folders and desktop to "normal". On my new laptop it also had OneDrive preinstalled. If you look at...
