Thanks pepanee, I've sent feedback, and the email accounts are Gmail and my ISP, so neither are on Microsoft's server. I've moved back to Classic Outlook until New Outlook has been properly sorted. It's got lots of other issues, linking calendars with my iphone is another.

It seems that the July 2026 update to .NET has rendered this old program inoperable. My Win10 computer, which I did not run the July update on, still works, and Easy Subtitle Synchronizer relies on .NET to work. Can anyone confirm this or give me a good alternative for adjusting subtitles?

I've had this issue forever on both my computers. My workaround is simple - when you open file explorer, wait 10 seconds or so for it to read all the drives before actually using it for whatever reason you opened it.

File explorer is flaky copying large numbers of files. Try Teracopy, a free download that moves files much quicker than explorer and may solve your freezing issue.

Okay, all sorted. Thanks to Megahertz for the info about reagentc I was able to create a windows 10 recovery partition using the reagentc /enable command and the update to 11 worked. I now have 11 as a 10 update, and a clean install 11 as dual boot. I will delete the clean install in due course...

What about letting Windows 10 update to 11 (windows update says it's ready to go) and if all works, and it boots to the "new" windows 11, then I delete (D:) Would that work? I'm concerned that if the update to 11 fails for some reason, I might have an unbootable computer.

I'm not sure what I'm looking for here, but it doesn't seem positive.
