Just an update to let everyone know how i got on. Tried repairing Edge but didn't work. Used Wise uninstaller to get rid. Didn't work. Used Wintoys, success it is gone. Installed DuckDuckGo and it does what I wanted and very easily. Once again many thanks for everyone's help and suggestions.

Thank you Fabler2, BruceR and TraderGary New to this so dont know how to reply individually!! I have had the screens shown by Fabler2 but not now. I think I need to repair Edge as it now seems obvious that it is damaged. You have all been very helpful.

Use "Page settings" (gear icon at top right) on the New Tab page to switch off background and content. I dont seem to have this option. When I click the gear icon it gives me a fly out which says page settings. When I scroll down this i get to a title which says content settings and a button...

Microsoft seem to have locked it down. Cant get rid of full screen image or MSN which I don't want. Customisation options seem to be missing but will look at it again. Would do a roll back but don't have a restore point. Am i the only one with this problem?

Thanks for that. I have dabbled with AI which suggested adding an extension Custom New Tab. I tried to recreate my original homepage but got lost in the HTML and CSS. I will look at your project and see how it is done. Looks like I just need to use an existing tab instead of the recreation...

Yes sorry I did mean my browser homepage. I am using Edge.

I was very happy with my homepage, Twenty buttons, light solid color background. after an update I got a full screen image, MSN, and no way to change it. How can I get back to my custom page.
