I can confirm that this fixes the Desktop Icon issue. I have Windows 11 Pro and I disabled the Widgets and it fixed my problem.

Well, Well, Well!! Looks like Microsoft maybe heard our complaints. (Doubt it) There is an update released today called: 2023-02 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5022913) - So maybe this may do the trick. Fingers crossed, I'm doing the update now.
