Not exactly sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes.
To be upfront, I've installed Windows OS from DOS to 10, but have yet to mess with 11 with a unit that comes without an OS.
My question is, If I buy a (Dell) laptop that says "has no OS”, how much of an issue is it to install...
Reboot doesn't fix it either. Oh well… If I hover the mouse over the area, they do show that way, but as soon as I move the mouse off, they disappear again.
OK, it seems to have something to do with the wallpaper settings, I tried a different wallpaper and the icons show as usual. I'm not sure...
I decided to try this, and it seems to work, but How do I get my system icons to show, and my clock on the taskbar? I looked at the settings, but didn't see anything that would let me do it.
Just tried this, but it kept giving me an error, and which of the 2 files would you download? I tried the x64 one because my system is x64, that didn't work, I also downloaded the 2nd one, some arm64,
I typed the right command and path ,
dism /Online /Add-Package /Package...
Yup, have had it but didn't use it, I did just turn it on, and it did update whatever and asked for a restart, I did the restart, and yes the sec do show now.
I turned it off again since I don't much care about being a beta tester or some insider, all I wanted was this simple option which...
I used the reg file that is supposed to change the reg to show sec, it installed, checked the reg to make sure that the number showed 1, it does, restarted, no sec, shut down and reboot, still no sec. So I'm not sure if its this update or what is keeping the sec from showing even though the...
OK so just for the heck of it I went and let this "firmware" optional update install, only because when I checked the device manager it did have 0.1.23.0, while my BIOS does show the 1.24.0 is installed. So after running this optional update, the "firmware" does now show as 0.1.24.0, It's a bit...
Yeah, so far, I just ignore the "optional" item. As for device manager, as you see, it does show the most up-to-date BIOS installed. I don't like messing around with BIOS stuff because you can't just restore a system backup to correct that.
I have already installed the latest BIOS update a few days ago using the Intel Driver and Support app, both the app and my system shows it's installed. Yet I still find it listed in optional driver updates. I just updated the latest cumulative update, and that didn't change it. Any reason that...
Installed it yesterday, after turning on this morning it went nuts again, ended up doing a restore point recovery this time from yesterday, back up and running so far, and set the updates to pause for now.
Have no such issues with my w10P systems. Was hoping to move away from those older...
This is just a temporary fix, Windows will again make them downloadable 30 days later
The problem is these are already downloaded and sitting here, Just this morning after installing the latest intel driver myself the intel updates again installed themselves even after I set it to "pause" last...
OK, so I managed to download the latest Intel driver from the Intel site directly, I did get it to install and rebooted and all is well there. However, checking Windows Update again after the reboot, it still shows all these old files I assume are driver related still listed, including the one...
Well, after finding out the hard way which download was causing the blue screen, I ended up having to recover my system yet again due to doing the downloads one by one manually. The one that seems to be causing all this is "Intel Corporation - Display - 30.0.101.1338" I was able to download each...
