The surprise was that they did not have you clean install before shipping. If there are no recurrent problems after one week of monitoring then restore an image. If there are recurrent problems during one week of monitoring then plan RMA.

If you decide to upgrade again steps can be made to decrease the likelihood of failure. And if there is a failure the log files can be troubleshooted.

The clean install was expected. When you receive the computer you can use it and monitor. The log files can be collected then scanned and read. If there are significant problems they can be documented.
