Aye that sounds about right, I'm so disappointed in Microsoft, With Edge they have made a great browser, i don't mind having to customise it to begin with, but what really tires me and disappoints me is the constant nags and changing settings!! (usually under an update or other guise)

Yes, Microsoft selectively changed my core settings, and very selectively fixed them just the way they like you to set them!!

Thanks Steve, I have today downloaded Vivaldi.. settings (lots of them) are a bit to get my head round, but it seems very customisable.

Did you have to leave the region set to an EU country? or will it still honour the removal if you change it back when it updates?

On mine it set all the sync options back on , so a change on one likely triggered the change on all!

Thanks G, I have always found your input on these forums useful (I read a lot more than i post ) I like the look of vivaldi so far takes a while to customise but seems to honour its settings.

Check underneath the hood!.. i was surprised how many settings it did change , while leaving others intact, it was very selective. It wasn't a full reset.

So far as I'm aware it simply wasn't broken. in this case it turned loads of stuff back on that favoured Microsoft and only those settings that favoured Microsoft. This meant that I had to go and reset lots of settings , including setting the sync settings so that all my other installation of...

I'm really at the end of my tether with Edge, Thing is I believe it really is a good browser but they keep doing things that totally piddle people off !! I've had to go through and reset so many settings!

It's simple really, I have a new computer, as most computers come with windows already installed which is very good for getting up and running it often comes with lots of things you don't need or want. I usually leave this on for a few days just to make sure the hardware performs properly...

Thanks zbook, that's very useful, I'm tempted to try 'Double Driver' utility as apparently it can be set to only copy third party drivers.
