So a Nas with 10Gbps network with Mikrotik switch or bridge and cat 7 My interest is providing quickbooks clients very fast access to data that has pictures. Inventory with pictures. I contacted MicroTik about windows 10 and windows 11 and the speeds that we could obtain and they would not give me an answer. IN my 10Gbps research I found buffalo link routers are offered with ethernet ports that have 10Gbps speeds. I also saw that people who had a nas setup with a windows 7 and a mikrotik router found that when they updated to windows 10 that they no longer had the 10x faster access to their data on their nas. WHAT why? Anyone know how to work around this ? And what about the update to windows 11 did they fix the problem with the network speed slowing down ? Anyone have a guess as to WHY they reduced the speed of our Ethernet access to our data ? Is it a Microsoft server a required thing to obtain the fast access to all our pictures. ? Pictures are only getting bigger and load slower. Some people have 3T of pictures they wish to sort through and they want their team to be able to sort through them. We want fast access to our pictures and videos. ! Anyway my interest in setting up 10Gbps networks fizzled when I saw how no person knew why our update from 7 to 10 put a tourniquet on our data access. So my question is this: Can we obtain fast access if we have windows 11 or windows server ? What must we do? Move to Linux ? Maybe a Linux OS installed as a virtual machine on a windows 10 would then allow 10Gbps data speed access. ?? My understanding is web servers all have 10Gbps networks. ?
