I have a ttf (font) version of the Microsoft "3D Fluent Emoji" font. I can't install the font. It says:

s1.png

How Microsoft implemented this font for Teams (in Windows 11)?

Thanks. Both are the same, go to Registry and delete the current (default) Segoe UI Emoji and install a new/old version of the same font.
The font I want to install (Windows 3D Emoji.ttf) is not the same Segoe UI Emoji. Windows can't recognize it as a ttf font (SS above).

I have Google Noto Color Emoji font installed (by Photoshop, since version 23, Adobe decided to install this font with Photoshop instead of EmojiOne font) and installed EmojiOne manually. But there is only EmojiOne font, not the Google Noto in Fonts Settings/folder!

My idea is to recompile the Windows 3D Emoji.ttf as Segoe UI Emoji. It is a pro task but there are tools which can do it. If can do that, Windows 11 might accept 3D emojis as Segoe UI Emoji.

I do not understand what you are trying to say about Noto Emoji and EmojiOne (which is JoyPixels now). Is it an Adobe-specific problem?

You mean convert the font (3D Emoji) to a new Windows ttf/otf font (?).

GNCE (Google Noto Color Emoji) and EO (EmojiOne) are not installed by default on Windows 11. Before Photoshop v23, the EO was installed with the Photoshop (part of the Photoshop installation process). Since Photoshop version 24, Adobe decided to replace the EO with GNCE.

I used to install GNCE manually (before Ps v24), and now I have to install EO manually! The GNCE isn't available in Windows fonts folder (because Adobe has its font installation directory!). I can't understand why the regular Segoe Color Emoji font is not recognizable in Photoshop. It just loads the Black/White version of this font!

Thanks. But Yes! I downloaded the font pack (on Git) the day Microsoft released it on Git!
The Git version has a 2D version as SVG (I edit them in Adobe Illustrator). But the 3D version is in PNG format (not editable).

I use Emojis a lot (I have a bunch of emoji packs, as you can see in my SS). The problem is they are not a font (most of them), and I have to copy them (each emoji from an MHT file) to bring them into the Ps (Photoshop)!

I downloaded the full Fluent 3D Emoij Fig pack (Microsoft official 3D emoji on Figma). But they don't work offline! I sent an email, and Mr Neil Eads (Figma Technical Quality Manager) said they would consider it as a new feature in the next updates!

Do you have a link to the Fig pack you downloaded?
It's hard to test if I can't find it. :-)

Forget my last. It says they'll me in Win 11 in a future update.
It'll probably be easier to just wait.

Good luck. :-)

You can go to "Figma.com" and search for the name of packs (Fluent emoji — 1, Fluent emoji — 2, ...). I like Figma, but I don't use it because it works online! I am waiting for an offline version of Figma (not the current offline version which doesn't work without the Internet!!!).

Important alert (!) : Visiting these types of fig pages takes too much RAM. Most of the time, RAM is in overflow mode (Browser crashes)!

Yes, a compatible font type

I can't understand why the regular Segoe Color Emoji font is not recognizable in Photoshop.

Possibly something hard coded into Photoshop. I have the same issue with GIMP.

Google Noto emojis have a kind of overriiding other fonts habit from what I have seen. I had to clear the font cache before my changes would apply.

I don't think. I searched (the Photoshop directory and AppData/Roaming/Adobe), and then I found these fonts, the app UI fonts (the famous Adobe Clean Black) and Adobe ancient fonts (Myriad,...). Google Noto  ? The consequence of Adobe-Google partnership :woozy:.

Noto is free and open source and is available on Google Fonts. If I download and install it from Git/GFonts, it would appear in Windows Fons folder, but Photoshop hangs/crashes! I reported this bug to Adobe. They are debugging, yet (since six months ago)!
I rarely clear font cache. I use FontBase (free version) and FontExpert. They have no problem with caching whenever you activate a font temporarily.

...I have the same issue with GIMP.
Interesting! The last time I worked with GIMP was about five years ago. Does it install Google Noto automatically (like the new version of Ps), or do you have to download and install it manually?
AFAIK the new Ps/Ai text engine has some bugs! As users reported on the Adobe forum.

No, GIMP does not install any fonts, to my knowledge. This is a normal problem. I have this issue with numerous other programs where the default system emoji won't work.

Google is an evil entity that's been around since the prehistoric days.
In our times, it's totally out of control.
I recommend seeing Dr. Crusher immediately.

My apology, but I think you are wrong!
Their motto was: Don't be Evil! :smirk:

I recommend seeing Dr. Crusher immediately.
Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately), I have many of them (Doctors!) around me in my family. The first one is my sister (the Big sister!). She has two medical degrees! Gynaecologist, psychologist!

I didn't like the second one, but I loved the first one. Because when I was in middle school, I read all her books about women's anatomy and became completely familiar with female anatomy :woozy:. Those books and specialized science about women helped me a lot until today! The second one taught me how to behave with women, especially when we are alone :woozy:!

She doesn't know about it yet!
BTW I hate doctors. I hate them. They just make the situation worst.

Google and MS have competing font standards (no surprise!), and Android fonts are incompatible with Windows. If you read Noto-Emoji's GitHub issues, Google went back and created a Windows-specific version of the font. While it installs, Noto-Emoji doesn't render correctly in the Fonts control panel.

I found this method, which repackages NotoColorEmoji_WindowsCompatible.ttf as a Segoe UI Emoji replacement to work better.

NotoColorEmoji_WindowsCompatible.ttf
I have seen the font on Git. You can download it from GFonts. Google brought it to GFonts for Windows (less than six months ago).

...repackages NotoColorEmoji_WindowsCompatible.ttf as a Segoe UI Emoji replacement..
What a coincidence! Two days ago, I asked them (one of the Microsoft product team) on Twitter how to add flags to the SE (Segoe Emoji). She said it's not possible because they have to merge two UNICODE and this has to be universal for all OSs! I didn't understand.
I don't want to replace Segoe Emoji with Noto.

As I realized (I have read many posts/articles about fonts), the Windows text engine is absolute rubbish! Mac has the best one! I love its font (I prefer its old Helvetica) and the way it treats text.
