I made a video of a system backup and then show some other features.

As you can see it is nearly identical to AOMEI in terms of GUI.

Hasleo looks a good choice for a basic free tool as an alternative to Macrium Reflect Free.

For new users, I still recommend you try Macrium Reflect Free whilst it is still supported.

So, say I was COMPLETELY new to backing up, I’ve tried Macrium reflect but find it hard to use, would you say to me this tool is my best bet?

Everything was working well but the deal breaker for me was on a dual boot system. On the Dev windows created a full image backup then restored. Booted fine to the Dev channel so rebooted to the RTM version and a blue screen. Can't remember the error code but couldn't boot to it. Tried the Hasleo 'rescue disk' and it will only repair MBR :poop:

Used the Macrium repair boot feature and up and running again.
Didn't have this issue with Aeomi Backupper I tried either. So it's Macrium Reflect home for me.
Worth a go though.

Worked fine on mine with multiboot of 5 vhdx files.

The main backup and restore part looks pretty solid to me.

This just proves everybody needd to test things for "their" use.

All my tests just prove how good Macrium Reflect is. In all the years I have used it, it has only partly let me down once fir any combination of partitions/ drives i e. would not backup due to a vss issue (fixed easily enough) and never let me down on a restore.

However, PEBCAK can impact any imaging tools LOL.

Could well be :-) but the interface is simple and you can't really go wrong. Still - once bitten....

However for the more adventurous --if you have WSL installed or a Linux live distro as a VM you can still backup your windows system via a command line without using 3rd party tools. !!

ntfsclone -f --overwrite '/dev/sdc3' /dev/sda3' for example.

(might also be a command in windows via powershell etc to do the same thing).

I used this to make a windows to go on external device and then ran the bcdboot to add the boot loader -- boots perfectly from USB -- 100% clone of running physical windows system.

We can always rely on you to suggest an obscure and unfriendly (to Windows users) Linux solution. LOL.

If you want a Windows command line solution, use FFU.
