A smile for your COVID-darkened day

A new website (founded December, 2021) popped up among the ads on my Facebook page yesterday. Its ad text is copied directly from the Dell site, including copied graphics. The rest of the text is mostly in garbled English. Here's what these people are pitching:

New Inspiron 2-in-1 laptop i7-7000 USD89.99

Specs:
i7-1165G7
W10 Home
NVIDIA MX350
2 x 8GB DDR4 3200
512 GB NVMe

And you'll get all that for USD 89.99! (Just send the money now! This is a limited-time sale offer!)

Can you believe it?

I'm glad a few of you had a look at the scam I posted about above. Hope it amused you.

But there's a sad side as well: These scam artists wouldn't spend the money to set up a site and maintain it if there weren't gullible, naïve victims out there eager to grab a too-good-to-be-true deal, and they will get either nothing or a piece of junk for their money, and appeals to the "Customer Service" department offered by the scammers will be ignored.

Remember P. T. Barnum's famous observation: "There's a s***er born every minute."
