For years, I've booted up my PC, to run my DOS Backup/Restore program, with a Floppy Disk, CD, or now a Flash Drive, and in the Autoexec.bat file, I loaded "Mouse.com". That always worked OK, when I used a mouse that plugged into the PS2 port on the PC. Without "Mouse.com" being loaded before my Backup program, the mouse would not be seen by the program. Been doing that all the way back to 1997.
But when I try to use my USB Wireless Mouse, (Logitech M185) it is not seen by my Backup Program.
So in my own defense, I keep a wired PS2 mouse plugged into this PC all the time, and only use it when I'm doing a backup, or restore.
This is not difficult, actually quite simple, and having two mouses plugged in at the same time doesn't seen to cause any problems.
But, even though my current motherboard does have a PS2 mouse and keyboard combo port on the board, many newer PC's don't have that luxury.
So, if I want to do a backup on one of my Laptops, for instance, I can't use a USB mouse, and I have to use the keyboard.
I've done that enough times that I'm familiar with the process, but I find it slow and cumbersome.
Now, my question is: Is there a USB Mouse driver for DOS? And if so, where can I find it?
That's all I want, or need.
Thank you,
