A while back i was looking for a word free processor.

Some one on this forum posted two programs that were free, one program when i tried it i got a pop up asking me to buy it even as it was a trial program and i had not even had a chance to type a single word.

I quickly removed the program and thought that was the end of it, well i found out today i had been hacked there was something going on with my computer it was going through some type of updating tell me don't turn off your computer were 86% finished and your computer will restart.

Well it did restart and later when i tried opening a Liber Office word processor saved file, it opened in this Mobl Office Suite and all my saved old Microsoft Word files were now marked with the Mobl Office suite.

And before i was able to look at the file i got this message my trial program was beginning and if i wanted to buy it now i could and save some.


So what i think happened is the program installed their full program, and when i removed it the first time they just reinstalled their program again.

Sure don't look like Microsoft Windows 17.1.1 has very good security.

I've never heard of Mobl Office Suite. There's only 2 3rd party suites I would ever recommend. Both entirely free. Open Office #1 & Libre Office #2. Both can open old MS Word files. Both have been around a long time. It is never a good idea to have 2 different Office Suites installed at the same time because you get exactly what happened, file extensions getting inadvertently changed.

Have you tried FreeOffice? FreeOffice consists of the standalone programs TextMaker, PlanMaker and Presentations. These are comparable to the Microsoft Office programs Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• FreeOffice is the totally free version of Softmaker's paid for SoftMaker Office
• During setup it will ask you for an email address
• Once you give it it will send you a key
• Once you enter the key FreeOffice will be activated
• The only downside is SoftMaker will send emails trying to get you to buy SoftMaker Office. That is OK because I just ignore them.

I don’t understand where you got the idea you were hacked? That would of been a Windows update, check the update history?
As @Ghot said, grab Libre Office.

Use REVO to uninstall whatever it is you want gone.

Yes i now use Libre great program.

When someone recommends a program make sure you follow a link to the site of the company that makes it. It is easy to follow the wrong link to a site set up by hackers that will put malware on your computer. For example, if you do a Google search there will be a list of results. You have to be very careful which link you choose to click on.

That is what i feel happened i choose the wrong link, what i feel they did was install ta wo timed program and when i removed the one program a time release program took control of my word processing programs, when i opened Libre or my older MS Word it just reverted to their program.

I like LibreOffice over the others as I have the Portable version on a USB thumb drive with my diagnostics when I visit clients, use for checking their files if there's a problem, opens a lot of formats. LibreOffice and OpenOffice have their roots back to Star Office of some 30 years ago. LibreOffice is available as x86 or x64, OpenOffice as x86.

You may have stumbled over Office Suite by MobiSystems..., it's totally legit, I have it on all my devices!
The version for PC is legit as well but they would like your money!

Libre Office is the go to for free!

I think you are right thinking that was the program. but i removed it i thought but it got reinstalled.

These days... if I uninstall anything, I use REVO Uninstaller (free).
REVO is like a 280 lb. hitman, when it comes to uninstalling things.

The best part of REVO is the "scan for leftovers" tool. It finds ALL the leftovers.
It's the "leftovers" that are probably responsible for the re-installing.



Just look at how I brutalized the Windows Apps, with REVO... and they don't come back

If i could only read something on the Revo web page, with all them pop ups all over my screen, are they wanting payment up front before you even try it? what does "FREE" really mean?

Free in the case of REVO means... free.
