ACER lap top will not connect as a hotspot to 11

Loaded 11 a few days ago .....upgrade from 10PRO via Microsoft automatic upgrade.
Not matter what I turn on in the way of bluetooth or WIFI, the computer "see's my Galaxy S-9plus but will not show any internet if the phone is set for a " Hot Spot".
I got this laptop solely to allow a hot-spot from the smart phone for my hobby. Both show connected to each other but that is as far as it goes. No internet.
Ideas to try?

If using 5ghz WIFI, try altering the settings in device manager to wireless mode 802.11n and channel width of 20mhz only.

Also, as a troubleshooting step, try using USB cable tethering.
