If you like you can check the post below (David 3). He had found some RegKey to modify it, the new Menu (at least for adding NP++ item).

Hello @Brink,

Is this the new "New Context Menu" implementation method?

If yes! How easy it is :look: … Just one problem, I didn't understand even one line … :woozy:

Microsoft allows apps to programmed to add to the new context menu, but it all looks like Greek to me as well. Nothing obvious to me standing out for adding to the registry for this to use with a workaround. :unsure:

AveYo did hijack the entry but he couldn't add a custom icon to the entry. What a complicated issue! I think I have to ask for the solution directly from Mr Nadella himself.:woozy:

That looks more promising. I'll have to do some playing with it.

@atinfo,

I played around with it, and it's good to use for one context menu item.

It doesn't seem to allow to add more than one context menu.

I'm sure there's something more we're missing, but I can't find any reference material on this for the registry from Microsoft so far.

Win 11 Enterprise
Many thanks 🙏
Sorry for the late reply (I have an Internet problem in my region, these days I have access Internet at limited times in the day!!)

Did you find a solution to add a custom icon to that? I had a try before, but nothing. I don't know where it grabs the icon.
As you said, that allows adding just one entry. I think it's OK. Until the program's authors add NCM (new context menu) entry in their app natively (not by tweaking the registry).

I could add a custom icon using the usual method, but it will only show in the old context menu after clicking on "Show more options", and not the new one.
